Mapping Properties of Basic Hypergeometric Functions

It is known that the ratio of Gaussian hypergeometric functions can be represented by means of g -fractions. In this work, the ratio of q -hypergeometric functions are represented by means of g -fractions that lead to certain results on q -starlikeness of the q -hypergeometric functions defined on the open unit disk. Corresponding results for the q -convex case are also obtained.

Basic Hypergeometric Functions as Limits of Elliptic Hypergeometric Functions

We describe a uniform way of obtaining basic hypergeometric functions as limits of the elliptic beta integral. This description gives rise to the construction of a polytope with a different basic hypergeometric function attached to each face of this polytope. We can subsequently obtain various relations, such as transformations and three-term relations, of these functions by considering geometr...

A Bilateral Series Involving Basic Hypergeometric Functions

We prove a summation formula for a bilateral series whose terms are products of two basic hypergeometric functions. In special cases, series of this type arise as matrix elements of quantum group representations.

Basic Hypergeometric Functions and Orthogonal Laurent Polynomials

A three-complex-parameter class of orthogonal Laurent polynomials on the unit circle associated with basic hypergeometric or q-hypergeometric functions is considered. To be precise, we consider the orthogonality properties of the sequence of polynomials { 2Φ1(q−n, qb+1; q−c+b−n; q, qz)}n=0, where 0 < q < 1 and the complex parameters b, c and d are such that b = −1,−2, . . ., c− b+ 1 = −1,−2, . ...
